Since 2013 Sam Watson has collaborated every so often with artist Eleanor Wright. Using the combined name Eleanor Wright/Sam Watson they draw on a shared interest in the roles of production, collaboration and perception in the field of artistic production and cooperation. Using choreographed arrangements of both constructed and curated elements, their shared ventures – exhibitions, publications, events, research, residencies, travel – aim to shape an exchange in relation to the medium of exhibition making and its own associated web of social relations, personal artefacts and spatial-temporal contexts. They are each interested in treating their individual practices as a collaborative praxis, developing a framework that is built through collaboration and dialogue with others – peers, experts, publics, friends.

In 2014, together with the artists and educators Nadia Hebson and Paul Becker, they established the exploratory gallery model and platform Drop City.
